Bon Vendredi!

Happy Friday!

It has been a fun and busy week at ECPS! Several classes were involved in swimming, some of our grade 1 and 2s went to the zoo and we also had the last Council meeting for the year. Our Kindergarten Orientation also took place, and we are excited about our new learners joining us in the Fall!

Swimming

What a wonderful experience for the students! This week several classes participated in the swimming lessons at Canyon Meadows Pool. A huge thank you to all of our volonteers for helping us make these swim weeks possible for our students!

We are looking forward to the next round of swimming from June 17-20 for the rest of the students. If you can volunteer, please join us at the pool!

Thank you Ms. Kelly!

We are grateful for Ms. Kelly’s time as acting Assistant Principal at École Chinook Park School. She loved her time here!

Ms. Poole will be back in her Assistant Principal role later this week. She had a wonderful experience as an acting Principal at Evergreen School!

Presentation last Wednesday, May 29

At the final Council meeting for the year, Dr. Caroline Buzanko presented information about anxiety, technology, and social media. She shared many strategies to capitalize on strengths while increasing self-esteem, confidence, and resilience in children. Thank you to school council for organizing this for our community!

Sports Day – June 25

We are having our annual Sports Day on June 25 from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. We need many volunteers for this event to run smoothly and be a success. Watch formore information coming up.

Registration for Bus

Families should have already received an email from Transportation inviting them to register for the school bus service for the 2024-25 school year. Registration for the bus is not carried over and parents must register each year. Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, click here to learn how to create one). Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.

Immunization Catch-Up

The Public Health Nurses will be coming to the school on Wednesday June 5 in the AM to provide routine immunizations to students that have signed and returned consent forms. This is only for students that missed their routine rounds.

Grade 6 News

Bottle Drive - Sunday June 2, 9am to noon

Our Grade 6ers are in the home stretch of their time at Chinook Park School. A committee of parents is currently working with the teachers to plan a farewell celebration and as is tradition, to help organize a legacy gift for the school from the graduating classes. The legacy gift this year will be table tennis tables that can be set up in the gym for the students to use during indoor recess and physical education classes.

To fundraise for this initiative, the Grade 6 families are running a bottle drive on Sunday June 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the school parking lot. If you have any empties that you are able to contribute you can bring them to the school parking lot on Sunday morning. If you are not able to drop them off at this time you can drop them off anytime on the porch of 195 Cherovan Drive SW. Pickups are also available. Please text 403-803-1245 to arrange.

Thank you for supporting our Grade 6 students!
