Bon Vendredi!
Happy Friday!
Our French Immersion Grade 6s completed the DELF exam last Thursday: Great job grade 6s!
We had some great conversations at our School Council Wednesday evening. Marlene Krickhan, principal at École Woodman School, came to talk about the school, the late French Immersion program and transition to grade 7. We also had a presentation from Nancy Close, our school Trustee, who talked about her advocacy role and answered some of our families' questions.
A big thank you to our presenters and to everyone who attended!
Provincial Achievement Tests
Each year, our grade 6 students complete Provincial Achievement Tests. This year, it was announced that English Language Arts and Mathematics will not take place. Grade 6s will still complete an exam for Social Studies, Science and French Language Arts (French Immersion).
We will require some volunteers to read and/or scribe for some students in both English and French. If you are fluent in one or both of these languages and have some time to volunteer for any of the dates below, please reach out to M. Comeau.
- Tuesday, May 14 - French Language Arts (Writing)
- Tuesday, June 11 – French Language Arts (Reading)
- Wednesday, June 19 – Social Studies
- Thursday, June 20 - Science
Thank you for your continued support!
2023-2024 School fees
As we approach the end of the year, it is time to consider paying outstanding school fees. Fees can be paid online via MyCBE parent account. Please note that the CBE has a waiver process for families who can’t afford to pay fees. Please visit the CBE’s Waivers page for more information and the documents required as proof of income or extraordinary circumstances. Waiver applications are available through your MyCBE account. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
Save the date for the Spring Concert!
Our spring concert will be on May 2 and will feature our grades 4/5 and 6 French, 5/6 English.

It is an all or nothing situation. We must fill all spots to raise money for our school or we risk losing not only this casino but the opportunity to operate future casinos.
If you are able to help us, please sign up below. Your time volunteering at the casino brings in $70,000+ for the school. This money helps purchase jump math books, computers, musical instruments, gym equipment, and much more. Recent casinos have helped us put all students in swimming lessons, buy ukuleles and snow shoes, build the GaGa Ball pit and purchase library books. We are reliant on this form of funding.
No experience required. To volunteer you do not need security clearance. If you are able to volunteer please sign up at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0848A4AA2FA1F58-48468332-casino#/
