Bon Jeudi!

Happy Thursday!

It’s been a short but lively week at Chinook Park! Despite some wonky spring weather, it has been a refreshing and energizing return from Spring Break. The building was full of smiles and enthusiasm, especially on Dress Like a Teacher Day, where student participation was fantastic and staff had a great time spotting their mini look‑alikes.

Wednesday was a particularly busy and joyful day, with our Grades 1–2 enjoying an in‑school field trip, lots of good‑spirited pranks throughout the day, and smooties distributed across the school. Thank you to our parent volunteers for organizing and distributing fun snacks in the afternoon!

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow.

Chinook Park Art Update – Calling for Helping Hands!

We are excited to welcome our Artist in Residence, Natalia Ionescu, to Chinook Park School!

As part of our creative journey, students will be collaborating on special art illustrations that will be used for their class acknowledgment of the land. Their ideas will also be used in a new school mural and community art piece.

To prepare the space, we need some help sanding and priming the mural. If you have experience, tools, or can lend a hand, we would truly appreciate your support. Work would ideally be completed after school, 2:45 - 4:00 pm. Please email Mme Danielle if you are able to help. Dagodbout@cbe.ab.ca

Any expert advice or volunteer help from families would be wonderful as we get ready for this exciting artistic transformation!

Grade 4–6 Options – Round Two

Round two of Options kicks off this Friday for our Grade 4–6 students! Students will be jumping into a new option and getting another chance to try something different, work with new classmates, and have some fun learning together. The first round was a hit, and we’re excited to see what students dive into next.

Planning for Next Year

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, it’s really important for us to know which families will be returning to Chinook Park. Accurate information helps us plan classes and staffing as well as possible. This year, we’ll be collecting this information through School Engage, and we’ll be sharing more details as soon as it’s ready. Thank you in advance for your help and support with this process!

Message from School Council

Teacher Appreciation

To show our appreciation for our wonderful staff, we are organizing a Teacher Appreciation Potluck Lunch on Friday, April 10, 2026, for all Chinook Park School staff.

We invite families to sign up to bring a home-cooked or store-bought dish, snack, or dessert to help create a special lunch for our teachers and support staff. Items can be dropped off at the school (front doors) between 8:00 and 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 10, and lunch will be served for approximately 25 staff members at 12:00 p.m.

We know how hard our staff work every day to support our students and our school community, and this potluck is a simple way for us to say “thank you” and make their day a little brighter.
