Bon Vendredi,
Happy Friday,
It’s been a nice week at our school, even though the weather turned cold toward the end! A huge thank you to our parents for the delicious treats on Wednesday. Our teachers and support staff were thrilled. A special shout-out to Amber and our school council for organizing this event.
Thursday was extra special as we gathered for carolling and celebrated the festive spirit with all those colorful sweaters. Friday was exciting too as we welcomed our friends from Woodman School! They worked alongside our students and shared their talents and energy—it was fantastic to see them in action.
Looking ahead to next week, we have two exciting events: our Winter Concert on Thursday, a highlight of the season, and Pajama and Carolling Day on Friday, a cozy and festive way to wrap up the week together.
Holiday Food Drive
This holiday season our school is participating in the Calgary Food Bank – Mayor's 37th Annual Food Drive. From December 8 through December 18, we will be collecting nonperishable food items, as well as monetary donations (made directly online) for Calgary families.
Students may bring items to their classrooms or the entryway.
“An exciting event within the Mayor’s annual campaign is the Councilor's Challenge! The challenge is between each of the 14 Wards to raise funds and food for the Calgary Food Bank. By bringing together all Councilors and their Ward we are amplifying our voices and presenting a united front to support the community.”
Winter Concert
ECPS’s winter concert will be held on Thursday, December 18th featuring our Kindergarten to Grade 3/4 English and Kindergarten to Grade 3 French classes.
It is our priority that Div 2 students participate in a concert, however with the disruptions this year, they require more time to learn instruments. They are currently learning the ukulele and handbells.
We will be hosting two evening concerts to be able to accommodate all our families at 5:30 and 6:45 pm. We will share next week which classes we participate in which concert.
Seating is at a premium; we ask that only TWO family members attend the evening show. Other family members are welcome to attend the daytime dress rehearsal.

Lost and found
Please visit the Lost and Found before Friday, December 19th, as all remaining items will be donated to Good Will. Any items with names will be returned to students to the best of our ability.
Fun Lunch Wednesday
Next week, Wednesday December 17, will be our next Fun Lunch fundraising event, lunch provided by Subway. The last day to order is this Friday, December 12th, the website automatically cuts orders off at 11:59pm. We have no capacity to accept late orders.
If you would like to place an order, please register your student(s) on the Healthy Hunger website at https://healthyhunger.ca/index.php. Once you have completed your registration you will be able to view this event and the order form. Please note that the school to register for is "Chinook Park”.
The order form also provides the option of making an additional donation to the fundraiser. If you wish to do so, select “Additional Donation to BB4CK Program / School Council Funds” to donate in $1 increments. These specific donations are used towards purchasing every student supported by the Brown Bag 4 Kids Calgary Program a meal, and remaining funds will be added to our School Council Funds.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help these events run smoothly- to assure students receive their lunches in a timely manner. If you already have approved security clearance through our school and wish to volunteer, click the below link:

Thank you for supporting our school!
