Bon Vendredi! Happy Friday!

This week has been full of great moments. It was wonderful to see so many families at the winter concert and to share that special evening together. A special thank you to our School Council and Amber for organizing the Teacher Appreciation Potluck. Your efforts, along with the contributions from parents, made it a meaningful event, and our staff truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture. I’d also like to thank the Woodman students for visiting our classes on Friday. It was great to have them here and see their enthusiasm in action!

Spirit activities – Last week

We have a couple of fun events coming up! Parents are invited to join us for caroling in the gym on Wednesday at 10:15 am. Our next Fun Lunch is the same day, December 18. Additionally, we’ll be celebrating School Spirit with Pajama Day and Christmas Hat Day on Friday, December 20. We will also have small classroom based Chritsmas activities throughout the this fun and festive week!

Woodman Students

Friday we were fortunate to welcome Woodman grade 9 students who participated in their Giving Back Day and helped run festive activities, math games and art projects in many of our classrooms. It was wonderful to see them interact with our students and be positive role models, as well as visit with their old teachers, as many were Chinook Park alumni!

Fire Drill and Lockdown Drills

As we close out 2024, we will be completing two safety drills this week: a fire drill and a lockdown drill. Teachers will remind students of the expectations during these drills to ensure everyone is prepared. Our students at Chinook Park School have done a great job this year with our safety procedures, and we appreciate their attention and cooperation in keeping our school community safe.

Winter Concert – The Great Cookie Exchange

Thank you to all the families who attended and supported our winter concert this week. It was wonderful to see so many of you there to celebrate our students’ hard work and talent. Chinook Park families have always been incredibly supportive of the music program, and we truly appreciate it. For those who didn’t perform this time, we look forward to seeing the other half of the school take the stage in the spring. Thank you again for your continued support!

Food Drive

Thank you to all our families for your generous contributions to the food drive. We collected a substantial amount of donations, which will make a meaningful difference for those in needing a little extra this time of year. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated!

Nations Vision Clinic Eye Exams

Last year, the Nations Vision Clinic was a great success, helping many students and families with their vision needs. We’re happy to share that the clinic will be returning this year from January 20 - 24 to offer eye exams for all families. Permission forms will be sent home the first week of January. Participation is not mandatory, however if you wish for your child to receive a free eye exam, the form must be returned to their teacher.
