We are so fortunate to be enjoying this warm December weather! Yesterday we had our Winter Concert for our K-3/4 students, with our Kindergarteners performing in the daytime shows and the rest of the students also performing in the evening. Many thanks to the students and staff who put in the work to make the shows so successful!  

This week, we have been visiting classrooms reminding students of the importance of remaining caring, safe and respectful with everybody, especially at this time of year. We tend to see an increase in unexpected behaviors as we approach the holidays, and some reminders to give extra time and space to others can be helpful. 

On Thursday morning, School Council organized coffee and treats for our staff. We were spoiled with a variety of cookies, fruit and other goodies courtesy of our fabulous parent community. Merci! 

It was great today to have leaders from École Woodman School join some of our classes to work with our grade three French Immersion students. They set up stations in the library which focused on practicing oral French and building relationships across the Immersion community. We are looking at repeating the activity later in the year. Keep an eye out for more special activities in the new year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of French Immersion in the CBE! 

Spirit Days & Caroling 

Next week we will have a spirit day each day of the week. Our intention is not for families to have to do any extra shopping – use what you have at home, and participation is always optional. 

On Wednesday and Friday, we will have caroling. Families are welcome to join this whole-school event.

Fun Lunch 

Our final Fun Lunch for 2023 will be next Wednesday, December 20th and will feature Little Caesars pizza. The deadline to order is midnight tonight. Orders can be made through the Healthy Hunger website. 

Kindergarten Registration for 2024-2025 

Registering your child for school is an exciting milestone for many families! Starting Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, kindergarten registration will be open for the 2024-25 school year. For children to be eligible to register and attend kindergarten next school year, they must turn five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2024. Click here for more information.

Information Night 

École Chinook Park School will be hosting an information night focused on our French Immersion program on Thursday, January 11th, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at school. Students can begin Early French Immersion in either Kindergarten or grade 1. If you are considering French Immersion for your child, you are encouraged to attend this event. You will have the opportunity to meet with the administrators, learn about the program, and have all your questions answered.  

Word of mouth has been a successful tool in growing our school population in the past. Spread the word! 

Comunity Pantry
