Bon Vendredi! Happy Friday!

Mois de la Francophonie in Alberta kicked off this week, with most of our activities being next week. We will have an assembly and parade of flags from various francophone countries around the world. As well as Manie musical all month long, a global event where each week students listen to songs from various francophone artists from around the world and vote for their favourites to eventually determine which artist will prvail with the song of the year!

This week, Ms. Walker's students had the enriching experience of attending science school, engaging in hands-on activities that fostered critical thinking and a deeper appreciation for scientific inquiry. We look forward to Ms. Willie's class embarking on their own science school adventure next week, anticipating similar opportunities for exploration and growth.

We held our second round of Options Friday and Wellness in Action programs, offering students diverse activities that promote well-being and personal development. A special thank you to Mme. Louise for coming again to give a presentation to our students!

Parent-Teacher Interviews – Online

Due to the ongoing CUPE Local 40 labor action the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) has transitioned all March parent-teacher conferences to an online format to ensure continuity and accessibility. cbe.ab.ca

Traditionally, this period is reserved for student-led conferences, offering students the opportunity to showcase their learning and progress. However, the current circumstances necessitate a shift to a virtual meeting.

Parents and guardians can begin booking these online conferences starting March 13 through their MyCBE accounts. The interview dates are Thursday, March 20 from 4:00 to 7:30pm and Friday, March 21 from 8:00-12:00pm.

Further details regarding the structure and expectations of these sessions will be communicated directly by your child's teachers.

Alberta Assurance Survey Grade 4

In its ongoing commitment to providing a world-class education for Alberta’s children, Alberta Education will once again conduct its annual survey of grade 4, 7, and 10 students and their parents or guardians. This survey will gather essential information about students’ and parents’ school experiences, helping to drive continuous improvements in our education system. We will complete the surveys with our Grade 4 students on March 13 and 17th. Please see the Parent Letter for more information.
