This week the grade 3 classes welcomed Teacher’s Pet to our school for some fun activities. Students learned all about Peru and explored artifacts from this amazing country.
Swimming Trip
This week your child has received their swimming permission forms. Please read through the forms, sign and return them to school as soon as possible. Please be sure to complete the swimming level assessment form and include that with the permission form when you return it school. The pool needs this information to place your child in the appropriate swimming class. We are looking forward to an exciting week of lessons!
We will have two weeks of swimming; the first one is the week of May 27 to May 31. The classes attending the first round are Mr. Davis, M. Mathieu, Ms. McCurdy, Mme. Katie, Mme. Austin and Mr. Orr.
We are calling for volunteers to join us at the pool to assist with supervision and with the change room transitions. Volunteers will not be swimming with students. We will send a message Monday with a link to volunteer. Thank you!
Nation’s Vision
This week we hosted Nation’s Vision team, a multidisciplinary portable eyecare team, in our school. The team provided comprehensive eye exams by a licensed optometrist, aided by a certified optometric assistant and optician. If your child is a candidate for new eyeglasses, they will bring a letter that explains the process of obtaining glasses via the in-school Humanitarian Eyewear program. The program provides financial support for parents/guardians. The Nation Vision team’s final day in school will be Monday to ensure that everyone who submitted the forms receives a checkup.
