Bon Vendredi! Happy Friday!

What a fantastic week at École Chinook Park! The beautiful weather added an extra boost of energy as students enjoyed a variety of exciting learning opportunities. Ms. Jocson and Ms. Craig’s classes had a great time visiting the Stampede Ranch, while our Grade 3 French Immersion students explored hands-on science at the TELUS Spark Science Centre. A lot of students participated in Jersey Day on Tuesday, and it was a blast—plenty of school spirit, high energy, and not a single time-out needed from our enthusiastic “referees”!

Wellness Week

May 5-9 is provincial Mental Health Week, we have a fun filled week of activities prepared for students, as well as a Bingo of tasks to complete at home, with the chance to win cool Chinook Park Swag!

All Bingos must be returned to the classroom teacher by Monday, May 12.

• Monday: Mindful Minute and class activities with the daily challenge to help someone
• Tuesday: Wear blue for Mental Health Week with the daily challenge to give 3 compliments
• Wednesday: Hats on for Mental Health with the daily challenge of introducing yourself to someone new
• Thursday: Mismatch socks for Mental Health with the daily challenge of trying a mantra (eg. I can do hard things!)
• Friday: Wear a green ribbon for mental health with the daily challenge of getting outside into nature!

Camp Chief Hector Fees – Grade 5-6

A big thank you to all the families who have already submitted their Camp Chief Hector fees—we truly appreciate your support! At this point, we’ve collected about three-quarters of the total fees, which is a great start! As part of our agreement with the camp, the full payment must be submitted within one month of our visit. If you haven’t had a chance to pay yet, please do so through your MyCBE account as soon as possible. Your timely payment helps us keep these enriching experiences running smoothly!

Lost and found

Our lost and found items will be displayed in the hallways to give students a chance to take a look and reclaim any missing winter items. Parents are also welcome to stop by and check for anything their child may have misplaced. Any unclaimed winter items will be donated after the May long-weekend.

Message from School Council

Popcorn Fundraiser:

The Grade 6 Farewell and Legacy Project Committee is selling Kernels Popcorn to raise money in support of the Grade 6 farewell celebration and the Grade 6 legacy project.

Several flavours of popcorn are available. Popcorn is individually packaged and shelf stable for two months, additional bags can be purchased and sent home to eat at a later date if you choose. The last day to order is FRIDAY JUNE 6. Popcorn will be delivered at school on June 11.

Save the Date: Grade 6 Farewell Celebration

The school will be holding a farewell celebration for Grade 6 students on Monday, June 23. The event will start with a farewell assembly in the gym followed by a party in the courtyard. Lunch will be provided, and families of the Grade 6 students are invited to attend.
