Bon vendredi!
Happy Friday!
Our school was filled with excitement, creativity, and plenty of Halloween spirit this week as students took part in our annual costume parade. It was wonderful to see so many imaginative costumes on display and to celebrate together as a school community. Thank you to all of our students for participating so enthusiastically and to our families for helping make the day such a memorable and fun experience.
A special congratulations to the winners of our Pumpkin Decorating Contest! We were impressed by the creativity, effort, and school spirit showcased in every entry.
· Funniest Pumpkin: Mollie Rm 25
· Spookiest Pumpkin: Sorcha Rm 12
· School Spirit Pumpkin: Keira Rm 13
As we head into November, and no time change this year, a reminder that the weather is getting colder and the mornings are becoming darker. Please ensure students come to school dressed appropriately for the changing conditions, including warm coats, hats, gloves, and sturdy footwear when needed.
We also encourage everyone to practice safe Halloween habits while out trick-or-treating. Have a fun, safe, and memorable Halloween!
Volunteers Needed for New Music Risers
We are looking for 6 volunteers to help assemble our new music risers on Monday, November 2 at 2:30 p.m. If you are able to help, please bring an electric drill. Thank you for supporting our school programs!
Literacy and Numeracy Screeners
In September, students in Grades 1–5 completed the provincially mandated literacy and numeracy screeners. The results were shared with families on Thursday, along with additional information from CBE.
These are diagnostic assessments that provide a snapshot of specific skills and help teachers identify targeted in-class strategies to support student learning. They are not a progress report or a reflection of a student’s overall achievement.
If you did not receive a paper copy of your Grade 1-5 child's report, please email your child's teacher.
Student Advisory Council
Mr. Comeau and Mme. Fortin are excited to host the first Student Advisory Council meetings on November 4 and 5. Two representatives from each class have been chosen to meet with school administration throughout the year to share their ideas and feedback.
CBE Well Being Survey
We will be completing the CBE Wellness Survey with Gr 4-6 students on Monday and Tuesday.
Please see attached CBE Student Survey Parent Letter
Remembrance Day Ceremony
Our school community will gather to honour and remember the brave Canadians who have served our country during our Remembrance Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the school gym. This year's ceremony will be emceed by our Grade 1-2 English students, who have been working hard to prepare for this important event.
Remembrance Day provides an opportunity for students to learn about the sacrifices made by members of the Canadian Armed Forces and to reflect on the values of peace, service, and gratitude. Families are welcome to join us as we come together to remember and honour those who have served and continue to serve our country. Lest we forget.
Lifetouch picture retakes at the studio
If your child missed photo retake day at school, there is still an opportunity to have their school photo taken at a Lifetouch studio. Please see the attached flyer for information on studio locations and how to book an appointment. Families interested in this option are encouraged to contact Lifetouch directly.
