ECPS Weekly – October 12 to 16

Happy Friday! 

It was another great week of learning, growth, and community at our school. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nitsíniiyi'taki Skip for sharing his Blackfoot knowledge, culture, and history with our students and staff today. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from him and are excited that he will continue working with us throughout the year.  

As we move further into the fall season, please ensure students are dressed appropriately for cooler weather and darker mornings. With reduced daylight, we ask families to take extra care around traffic and when crossing streets. As a reminder, students must walk their bikes while in the schoolyard, and helmets are mandatory for all students riding bikes or electric scooters.  

On behalf of all of us at the school, we wish our families a safe, restful, and happy Thanksgiving weekend.  

Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm 

We are excited to welcome Rhythm Rhythm Rhythm back to our school next Wednesday and Thursday! Many of our staff and students may remember their visit to Chinook Park two years ago, which was an engaging and memorable experience for everyone involved. This year's residency will look a little different, as the artists will be working with our students over two days instead of a longer visit. We are looking forward to the energy, creativity, and learning opportunities they will bring as students explore rhythm, music, and collaboration through this unique experience. We know it will be another fantastic opportunity for our school community. 

Jacket Racket 

Our school is participating in the Calgary Jacket Racket donation collection From October 5-23. Please bring clean and gently used jackets, snow pants, boots, mittens, gloves, tuques and/or scarves to the front office. All child and adult sizes are accepted.
