Bon Vendredi,
Happy Friday,

Our Grade 4-6 students completed the Ourschool survey this week, sharing their valuable opinion on school life. We appreciate their feedback as we use the results to plan for continued school improvement.

Our School Values help guide staff and students in their daily actions and choices at school. We are exploring each value individually. We are currently focusing on: At École Chinook Park School We Care about Each Other. Using our Indigenous Holistic Framework, we will look at how caring is connected to educating our heart and how we belong in our classroom and school community. At Ecole Chinook Park School, when we walk together in a good way, what does caring about each other look like, feel like and sound like?

Please find a link to our ECPS values on our website.

Halloween Activities

We are looking forward to having some Halloween fun again this year on Thursday, October 31!

Costume and parade

On the 31st, students are welcome to come dressed in their Halloween costumes. A friendly reminder that some of our staff get scared easily and so do some of our younger students, so please keep weapons or gory accessories at home.

Parents/guardians are invited to a whole school costume parade at 12:45pm. If you want to attend, please come in through the office entrance and we will gather in the gym to cheer on our students!

Our morning Kindergarten classes will have a mini parade at 9:00 am.

Great pumpkin contest

In keeping up with this yearly ECPS tradition, all families are invited to participate in our pumpkin carving contest again this year. Please see more information on our website: Link

Picture Retake Day

Lifetouch will be at Chinook Park School on October 24 for picture retakes. If you would like your student to have their picture retaken or if they missed the picture day, please notify the classroom teacher and send an email with the student's name to Chinookpark@cbe.ab.ca

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is almost full. Please take a moment to pop by the lost and found if your child has misplaced any clothing items.

Parking and Drop-off - Update

Thank you to everyone for your efforts in making our drop-off and pick-up process safer and smoother!

Our patrollers have done a great job keeping our families safe as they cross the street, and we’ve noticed more families using the alleyway for drop-off, which has helped ease congestion on 75th Avenue. We’ve also seen fewer U-turns and an overall improvement in the calmness of our mornings on the field.

Nevertheless, we’re still noticing a few safety concerns, particularly with vehicles parking too close to street corners. This creates blind spots and increases the risk for pedestrians and other drivers. We kindly ask that everyone be mindful of parking regulations to ensure the safety of all our students and families.

For more information and updates on parking and traffic guidelines, please visit our website: Parking and Traffic Update

School Council Update

ECPS Apparel

We’re excited to share that our Fall Apparel Sale was a great success, with multiple orders placed and over $500 raised for the school. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our school!

We will update families on delivery timelines once they are confirmed. Last year, the wait was approximately four weeks.
