Happy Friday!

It was wonderful to see so many parents and family members at our school picnic last Wednesday! Thank you for joining us and helping make it such a positive community event. The beautiful weather and opportunity to connect made it another successful year!

Photo Day also went very smoothly this week. If your child was absent or if you would like retakes, our Photo Retake Day is scheduled for October 22.

A reminder that there is no school for students this Friday, September 25. 

Meet the Teacher

We are excited to welcome families to our Meet the Teacher Evening on Thursday, September 24, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit classrooms, meet our amazing staff, and learn more about the year ahead. Families may book up to three 25-minute sessions. Appointment times will be available to select tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. through your myCBE account.

Kindergarten families: The format and the schedule will be a little different, and your child's teacher will send additional information directly to you.

In addition, time has been set aside on Friday for meetings with families of students who have an Individual Program Plan. Teachers will be reaching out with more information and scheduling details.

Terry Fox Run

This year's Terry Fox Run will be on Friday, October 2nd. 

Starting next week, each classroom will have a donation box for cash donations for the Terry Fox Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society.  Students can bring a cash donation to their classroom teacher until October 2nd, or families can choose to donate online at the Chinook Park School link

Parents are invited to cheer their student(s) on during the run and more details will be shared next week. 

Yearly Demographic Verification Forms

Thank you to the many families who have already completed their Demographic Verification Form for the 2026-27 school year. Your prompt attention helps us maintain accurate student information and ensures our school receives the funding and supports provided through Alberta Education and Childcare.

While the deadline to complete forms was Monday, September 14, approximately 45% of our students still do not have a completed Demographic Verification Form on file. If your family has not yet completed the form, we kindly ask that you do so as soon as possible. Your support is greatly appreciated and helps our school continue to plan effectively for student learning and success.

Attendance/Lates

If your child will be late, absent or leave early, please send an email to chinookpark@cbe.ab.ca  If your child is a bus student and you are planning to pick them up that day, please reach out as early as possible so we can adjust attendance accordingly.

Youth Musical Theater Canada

We will be facilitating the Calgary’s upcoming Fall 2026 program auditions for "The Lost World" on Tuesday, September 22nd (lunch period) for Gr 5-6 students interested and who have returned the permission form sent home on Monday. Truth and reconciliation – September 30

Truth and Reconciliation Day is September 30^th, there is no school. We will be honoring this day on Tuesday, September 29^th. Students are encouraged to wear orange shirts for this day. We will be hosting a whole school assembly in afternoon.

Message from School Council

Get Involved: School Council AGM and Parent Volunteers Needed

We are always looking for parents and guardians who are interested in getting involved with our School Council. School Council plays an important role in supporting our school community, and we welcome new volunteers, perspectives, and ideas.

Our School Council Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Wednesday, September 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families can participate either in person or online. The AGM is a great opportunity to learn more about School Council, hear about upcoming initiatives, meet other parents, and consider becoming involved in supporting our school community.

Invite | National Day for TRC & Orange Shirt Day Events

All CBE staff, students, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to continue learning and show support at the 5th annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event taking place at the Confluence Historic Site on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. This important community gathering is a collaboration between the City of Calgary, CBE, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department, and The Confluence. A CBE group photo will be taken at the CBE Smudge Tipi at the end of the event. Meet us there! 🧡
