Bon Vendredi,
Happy Friday,
We had a busy week! It was nice to see most of our ECPS families today and yesterday for Meet the Teacher.
On Tuesday, the weather was wonderful, and students enjoyed our Terry Fox Run. Thank you to all families who came out and who donated to this important campaign! We will announce the total donations collected next week.
Teachers have been discussing the importance of Orange Shirt Day with their students and how we can continue to move from truth and reconciliation to action. Yesterday, our students participated in a school-wide assembly to gather, hear a story and celebrate our work at ECPS. There are many events acknowledging this day throughout the city, and we encourage families to take the time to have a conversation or do something together to mark this important day on September 30th .
Parking and patrols
We operate on a “Safety First – Convenience Second” mindset when it comes to parking. You might come along 75th Avenue and find an amazing spot right near our crosswalk and think it is your lucky day! There are “No Stopping” signs one car length on either side of the crosswalk on both sides of the road. Our Gr 5/6 pattrollers will still be training this week, and this space gives them a line of sight down the road for visibility. Do not park or stop in these areas!
Our patrollers will be out and ready to help on the week of October 7th.
Message from School Council
AGM
Thank you to everyone that participated in Wednesday’s meeting. We will share our new Parent Council members next week. The next meeting is on October 30th at 6:30pm in the school library or on Teams. All parents are welcome to attend.
Chinook Park Apparel Store
Our school apparel store is now open until October 14th!
This is a great opportunity to order school spirit wear for École Chinook Park School through Big Mountain. New this year, you are able to purchase items as gifts for your child. In the check out, select “Gift” and the parent will be contacted to pick up instead of sent home with the student. School apparel makes great Christmas gifts!

Message from the City of Calgary
Kingsland Park: Phase 1 Engagement
The City conducted a Summer Park pilot or “pop-up” in Kingsland to:
- create a new community space to play, socialize, relax, and gather for all ages and abilities,
- act on community suggestions from the Heritage Local Area Plan, “to enhance and improve civic facilities, parks, open spaces and natural areas”, and
- explore innovative methods to better utilize Calgary’s public spaces.
We want to hear what you think about the pilot and future improvements to the park!
Please share your thoughts online until Oct 14, 2024 at engage.calgary.ca/kingslandpark
The City will use this feedback to inform future activities in Kingsland and in other Calgary neighborhoods.
