Bonjour chères familles,

Hello Families, 

This week began with our Grade Six Farewell. Weather turned out great, and grade 6 parents organized a lovely celebration to honour our students as they prepare for Grade Seven. On Thursday, we gathered for a final assembly to say goodbye to some staff and to wish everyone a safe and happy summer break and then all got outside to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, freezies, and fun during Sports Day.  

Thank you to all of our families for your ongoing support this school year. The final days of school are always busy, and we appreciate everyone who stepped up to volunteer and make our closing activities memorable for students.  

Staffing Update 

As we wrap up the year, we want to give a big thank you to Ms. Jocson and Ms. Rachel. Both joined us in temporary roles and jumped right in to support our students and staff. We really appreciated your help this year and wish you all the best in what comes next! 

We’re also saying goodbye to Mme Trish and Ms. Woelfle, who will be leaving our school community for new adventures. Thank you for everything you've done for our students. Your care and dedication will be missed. 

And finally, a special congratulations to Mr. Morand on his retirement! We’re grateful for his many years of service and commitment, and we wish him all the best as he starts this exciting new chapter. 

Looking ahead, we’re happy to welcome Miriam Shustack and Tegan Post to our Regular Program teaching teams, and Marie-Joëlle Fortin Charon, who will be joining our French Immersion program as a teacher and learning leader for our older students. Bienvenue à Chinook Park!

Report Cards 

Report cards were made available online yesterday through MyCBE. If you have any questions about your child’s report card, please reach out directly to their teacher by noon on Friday. You can access report cards by logging into your MyCBE account here.

Back to school

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2.  

Kindergarten students will follow a staggered entry—more information can be found here.  

Our school office will reopen from August 27–29, between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM. 

French Summer Camps 

For families interested in continuing French language exposure over the summer, there are local camp options available. Polyglots offers French Immersion camps with a focus on language and cultural activities: https://polyglots.ca/immersion-camps/. Message from School Council 

Thank you to everyone who volunteered or helped to organize our many school council activities and events this year. Through the continued support of this amazing school community we have been able to provide many experiences and learning enhancements for the students, educational opportunities for parents, and to show our appreciation for the incredible teachers and staff at Chinook Park School. 
We have a few School Council roles that we will need to fill in the Fall. If you are interested in learning more about the vacant roles please email chinookparkchair@gmail.com.
