Grade 1 and 2 Field Trip 

Our grade 1 and 2 students had a great time last Tuesday at the Calgary Farmyard! They were lucky with the weather and did not get rained on! They learned a lot about plants and their needs, and they had lots of time visiting farm animals. The zipline and tube slide were especially popular with all students. Students even got to plant their own seeds!  

Swimming Trip 

We are excited about our first week of swimming next week!  

We are still in need of some volunteers to join us at the swimming pool to ensure that our students are assisted in the change rooms, during transitions and for overall supervision during their presence in the pool.   

If you have police clearance, and are available to help, please sign up!

Registration for Bus 

Families should have already received an email from Transportation inviting them to register for the school bus service for the 2024-25 school year. Registration for bus is not carried over and parents must register each year. Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, click here to learn how to create one). Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. 

Grade 6 News 

Grade 7 Options 

We had a visit from Woodman! The visiting students from Woodman shared a band performance with our grade six classes. The Assistant Principal shared what options are available for next year. 

Students in grade 6 brought home the options course request form to share with parents. Please read the instructions and course descriptions and discuss them with your child. Complete the form and send it back to your child’s homeroom teacher. 

Bottle Drive - Grade 6 Farewell and Legacy Project 

Our Grade Six students are in the home stretch of their time at Chinook Park School. A committee of parents is currently working with the teachers to plan a farewell celebration, and as is tradition, to help organize a legacy gift for the school from the graduating classes. 

To fundraise for this initiative, the Grade 6 families are running a bottle drive on Sunday June 2 from 9 AM to 12 PM in the school parking lot. If you have any empties you can contribute, you can bring them to the school parking lot between 9 AM and 12 noon on June 2. If you are not able to drop them off on June 2, you can drop them off anytime on the porch at 195 Cherovan Drive SW. Pickup is also an option. Please text 403 803 1245 to arrange for your bottles to be picked up.

May 29 will be our last School Council meeting and we will have a special guest, Dr. Caroline Buzanko who will share information about emotional well-being in the Online Era.
